Reading
This week students explored a number of different online resources that they can access while at school, and at home. Using their Chromebooks, or a book from our classroom library, students focused on choosing a flexible seating option that fit for them, and building stamina while they read. During our silent reading time, Mrs. Hauser met with students to assess where their "just right" reading level was at.
Inquiry
This week we began our first PYP unit of inquiry, Who We Are. The central idea of our unit is that people bring their cultural and personal beliefs to a community of learners. Students were sent home with a homework assignment that involves talking to their families about what their values are. On Tuesday, the 19th students will bring in a picture of something that reflects one of their family values.
Back To School Night
Thank you so much to those that attended BTSN on Thursday! It was great getting to see so many familiar faces, and get an overview of what 4th grade is going to look like this year. I appreciate those of you who signed up to become a mystery reader or parent volunteer, and will be contacting you soon.
