October 9-11, 2017
Math
This week, students continued working on their first Engage New York unit, which focused on Place Value. Students worked in small groups with Mrs. Hauser to practice writing numbers in standard (124), word (one hundred and twenty four), and expanded (100+20+4) form.
Inquiry
This week we continued working on our PYP unit of inquiry, Who We Are. This weeks focus was on combining all of our ideas on values, culture and communities, and using them to make an artistic collage. Students looked at work completed by Romare Bearden for inspiration, and learned the meaning behind literal and symbolic imagery.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Thank you SO much to everyone who came and joined Mrs. Hauser for a conference! She had such a wonderful time talking with everyone, and is excited to continue working with families to see the 4th graders in her class succeed this year.
