Inquiry
This week, students continued working on their new PYP unit which focuses on How The World Works. In order to have a better understanding of Natural Disasters, and how people using scientific knowledge to respond to a changing Earth, students completed many different readings and participated in some hands on activities. This week, our main area of focus was on landslides/avalanches, as well as wildfires, and floods/droughts.
Math
This week, students reviewed all the multiplication and division strategies they knew, in order to prepare for our end of module test which took place on Friday. Students practiced multi-step story problems involving both types of math, and were sent home with a practice test to help them get ready for the actual exam. *Please note that not all students were present during the day of the exam, so students cannot expect to receive their tests after Winter Break, until everyone has completed their work.
Next week’s math: No Math due to Winter Break
Next week’s vocabulary test: No Vocabulary due to Winter Break
Class Party
A BIG thank you to all of our wonderful parent volunteers for making our class party another success! Students had a great time enjoying our hot chocolate bar, playing candy cane games, and making slime. Another huge hit of the party was gingerbread houses, and that wouldn't have been made possible without all our donated decoration items, so thank you to everyone who helped out. I hope you all has a great Winter Break filled with lots of rest and relaxation. Happy Holidays!
