March 5-7
Math
This week, students continued working on Module 5 by exploring how you use multiplication and division to find equivalent fractions. Students drew area models to visually show their understanding, and supported their thinking with standard algorithms. Next week, student will be introduced to benchmark fractions such as 1/4, 1/2, etc. and use a number line to show their thinking.
Inquiry
This week, students were introduced to the three branches of Government- Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. Students also learned how a bill becomes a law. To better understand this process, student took an in depth look at the real life example of the Oregon Bottle Bill https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_Bottle_Bill.
Parent Teacher Conferences
A BIG thank you to everyone who came to Parent/Teacher conferences! I had such a wonderful time chatting with each and every one of you, and it was great to sit down and discuss all the progress your child has accomplished thus far in 4th grade. I'm looking forward to a fun filled Spring, and I hope you are too!
